Bug ID: 171610
Summary: UI breaks on external display for LibreOffice
applications
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I have a Dell 27 inch external monitor connected to my Fedora OS (dell laptop).
Most of the windows when dragged to the external display appear correctly
except for LibreOffice Calc. In this case the menu icons, bars etc. display
disproportionately and not as smooth as MS excel would be. Also the save file
menu doesn't display all the contents only part of the title and buttons are
missing. This save menu can not be resized to view the buttons so there is no
way to save. User needs to drag it back to laptop screen to view the buttons
and take action.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have an external monitor/display attached to the laptop through HDMI
2. Open LibreOffice Calc or writer and drag the window to external display
3. Type something and use save or save as option and the save window will
appear
Actual Results:
The save window buttons are not visible. The window is not resizable to view
the buttons and user is forced to move the Calc or Writer window back to laptop
to view the buttons. Happening in LibraOffice Calc, Writer, and draw that I
tried.
Expected Results:
The UI should adjust according to the external monitor resolution and show the
buttons and menu bar in proportion to the display.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
1. As an immediate workaround if the save window could be made resizable that
would be good as interim resolution while the bug is investigated and fixed.
