Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.2.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]

Description:
I am using Libre Office 26.2 on a computer running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, with a AMD
A9-9425 RADEON R5, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G × 2 CPU and 8 GO RAM. I used the
version in the APT repository.
I've had added a Language Tool extension as well as Zotero, and some
dictionaries.
Even for small and light documents, LO started to used a lot of CPU and RAM,
often up to 7 GO RAM. CPU usage was at 100% on both cores. The software crashed
often and so did my computer.
I have reverted to the SNAP 25.8 and doesn't experience the same issues, though
it does sometimes not respond.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a Libre Office Writer or Calc version with specifications mentioned in
the Summary case.
2.Start working, save work from time to times.
3.Watch the CPU and RAM usage skyrocketing.
Actual Results:
System crash.
Expected Results:
Working without crashing the system.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I did not try to reset my profile yet, but I will do. I will submit this bug
report nonetheless as opening LO might crash my computer.
