FWIW, inserting a row above was possible in older versions of Calc (e.g. LO
5.0).

The steps are / were:

1. In cell A1, introduce an array formula that would occupy several rows (at
least 2 rows).

2. Go to some (independent) cell in row 1 that is not part of the array formula
and it is not dependent nor precedent of the array formula.

3. Open the context menu of that (independent) cell > Insert > Entire row(s).

3.A._ In newer versions of Calc, an Information message pops up, saying:
"Protected cells can not be modified." – I have no idea what's the reasoning
for this – and then (after OK) another message follows saying "Failed to insert
cells".

3.B._ In older versions (e.g. LO 5.0), a new row 1 was / is inserted, and the
array area moves down.
