--- Comment #7 from ady <[email protected]> --- @Marc, here is what I did with attachment 206972 from comment 2. 1. In cell R45, unmerge. I can see errors in cells S45 and T45. 2. Delete the contents of cells S45 and T45. 3. Merge cells R45:T45 4. In cell R52, unmerge. I can see errors in cells S52 and T52. 5. Copy cell R45. 6. On cell R52, Paste. Up to this point, the result is that cells R52:T52 are merged, with cell R52 containing the copied formula and cells S52:T52 empty (but all 3 merged), with a result of "j65" (without quotation marks). 7. In cell R52, unmerge. 8. Delete the contents of cells R52:T52 9. On cell R52, paste formula only. Up to this point, the result is that cell R52 contains the copied formula, with a result of "j65" (without quotation marks). Cells S52:T52 remain empty. 10. Merge cells R52:T52. Up to this point, the result is that cells R52:T52 are merged, with cell R52 containing the copied formula and cells S52:T52 empty (but all 3 merged), with a result of "j65" (without quotation marks). Up to this point, that is what I did; let's call that the "actual behavior / results" (although this seems to be slightly different than what you did before, but let's move on for now). I do not know whether cells S45:T45 and cells S52:T52 should also contain formulas (and merged), or are supposed to be left empty (and merged). You have not specified that detail. Other than that, here is what I still do not know... What exactly were you expecting to happen? What exactly is the "expected behavior / results"? We need to know the "expected behavior", in order to compare it to the "actual behavior"? The functions in question are array functions by nature, so even if the result is one cell, it is still an array (of 1x1). Thus, the curly brackets are not a surprise. Moreover, Calc made it easy and added the curly brackets for you, instead of showing you an error just because you used a simple [ENTER] (as opposed to using [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[ENTER] for the array formula). If the result on cell R52 is incorrect, I do not know, as you have not posted what was/is the expected behavior / result. The same goes for cells S52 and T52. What exactly is that you expect to happen? What is the expected behavior and the expected result that you do not see (or that you see in a different manner)? Please report back. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
