I agree we have a rather poor logic for setting the default language, or rather I should say script, for each group - when first running LO and creating a user profile. It is especially problematic for people who do bi-lingual work, like, say, Persian and German, or Russian and Arabic, or other combinations where you want something other than what seems to be the three hard defaults (English, Chinese, Hindi). What I don't understand is what you mean by "editing the default": One can change the default for new documents, using Tools > Options, and the change persists AFAICT. Can you elaborate on that point a little? This bug is particularly problematic for newbie users, who are not likely to easily locate Tools > Options and the exact path to which they must navigate.
