            Bug ID: 172316
Summary: Eliminate text boxes in Calc graphs or fix the feature
                    so editable and moveable
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.2.7.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

In a graph in LibreOffice Calc, it is possible to insert a text box in the
middle of a graph by first clicking *once* on the graph to select it, and then
entering text in the keyboard. The problem is that the text box is not
moveable, nor is it selectable for editing or deleting.

If I click twice on the graph to enter edit mode, then the text box disappears,
but then it reappears the moment I exit the graph's edit mode by clicking
outside the graph.

This problem happened to me by accident and I couldn't figure out how to delete
the text box. I tried deleting all the elements in the graph, but I couldn't
see the text box in the graph's edit mode.

I finally searched online for the problem and found out that I could select the
graph with one click and press F2 to edit the text. It does not appear possible
to delete the text box itself, but it is possible to delete all the text inside
the text box so it isn't visible. It is also possible to edit the text box by
clicking once on the graph to select it, then selecting Insert > Text Box in
the menu and then clicking on the graph again, which will highlight the text
box for editing.

Many people have the same problem over the years and couldn't figure out :

At this point, this feature is not useful, because the text box can't be moved
or deleted, and it is caused a lot of people trouble over the years, because
they can't figure out how to delete it.

Either delete this text box feature in Calc graphs or fix it so it is moveable
and easy to edit and delete. It should be possible to edit it simply by
clicking on the text box after selecting the graph.
