When I save the file and open it in MS Word, then I see the same thing in MS Word. So the visual change is actually fine. It didn't seem fine at the time of 6.4.4/7.0.0. At that point when the file was round-tripped MS Word didn't adjust the numbering format. Lots of similar follow-up changes happened around 7.2 timeframe - which I assume resolved the export side of things.
