It’s free but you still have to give your credit card details which I didn’t want to do. For me that is good enough reason to remove the feature because it doesn’t seem good to have to maintain code in the repo that we can’t reasonably test. I don’t suppose many people would miss it seeing as you have to jump through quite a few hoops to use it (ie, enable experimental features and get an API key).
