Bug ID: 172555
Summary: LibreOffice only program on the planet requiring
shutdown of Win Explorer to install. Stop that.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I just now installed 26.2.4.2. During the installation process, and could not
believe that the install shield prompted me that it must shut down Windows
Explorer to install or to reboot.
Seriously people? Name me one other program that requires the entire user
interface to be shut down just to install its software.
Engineer a better way.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch install program
2. Follow eventual prompt to either shut down Windows Explorer or reboot for
full installation.
Actual Results:
Both monitors went black/unusable while LibreOffice installed.
Expected Results:
LibreOffice installation program operates far less crudely.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
