Totally agree with A and B.

C. The popup text is from Extended Tips. Also tried this on a Linux box
$ uname -a
Linux neon-VB 3.8.0-27-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 9 00:17:05 UTC 2013
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

LibreOffice 4.0.2.2

Does exactly the same as Windows, as per my original report.
