and note that myself and Jonathan have already started 'lobbying' for the end
of the language-group/script-type trichotomy in favor of flexible support for
different scripts. I've even started a proposal to amend the ODF to allow for
this (actually, I need to push that forward since I'm not devoting nearly
enough time to it; if you're interested, please drop me a line). Anyway, once
that's done - we will have distinct font selection for different scripts. So
the typefaces supporting Arabic and those supporting Thai would be separated.

Also, even today, most people who use an RTL/CTL script don't actually use
_many_ such such scripts. Which mean that the Arabic-users will not be bothered
by many Thai and Devangari fonts, and vice-versa. Of course, the more of a
polyglot you are, the less that's true.
