Having it included by default just makes it easier to use. Anyway, in many Linux distributions I found that it is already provided as an independent package outside of the standard LibreOffice packages. It's true that the tool now lacks of a more accessible in-place documentation, which almost restricts its use to experts, and that now has a very limited maintenance. Both problems are the same: If you doesn't make it easier to learn and robust enough, that means less users and less interest. I think that's a lot of lost potential if you ask me, even more if we consider that it's been translated to so many languages. I think we could include a cheat-sheet with all the commands, and a visual way to see and change the language in use for interpreting the program, in order to expose to the user all the functionality provided and help to find translation-related bugs. Making it an extension will not fix its problems, we will be removing a long-time supported feature that is exclusive of LibreOffice and then I don't know if all the development could continue outside (about documentation, translations, tests, etc.).
