Just a suggestion that may or may not be relevant to the LibreOffice mission:
an independent character map utility (as in an '.exe') based on the "Special
Characters", Ω, dialogue box in the main interface. I have spent the last hour
looking for alternatives to the Windows-default Character Map, and none that
are available (at least not that I've seen) are as well made as the one that is
embedded within the Writer program. Some are close.
Thanks for the hard work on the program itself, I use it on a regular basis.
