After opening Autofilter pop-up you can start typing to go directly to entry you have on mind. Selecting only one item might be a bit more complicated than it used to be (you have to either: (a) unselect all, go to desired item, select or (b) go to desired item, click first button by "All" checkbox), but is definitely possible. Therefore, I mark this issue as FIXED. @Pavel: could you verify that this is indeed fixed in any supported version of LibreOffice?
