The example I have given in the most recent attachment is from the Microsoft documentation of Excel dynamic functions and is given as an example of how the Excel functions should work. I copied the example in the Microsoft documentation cell by cell into the latest attachment to this bug. I think you have misunderstood the Excel Help for LAMBDA. LAMBDA can and should be used without the steps you propose.
