What exactly do you need to verify? The initially active radio button is All Pages (unless you have a selection, which in some modules should trigger the respective field in the print dialog - and we may consider this also in Writer; but I wouldn't put too much brain power into this unless users ask for). The requested additional Current Page option from bug 173616 => bug 34697 is independent from this allowing to keep the current behavior. And the OP's actual use case, "print the current page" rather than "remind me on the current page number", would be solved by this. In general we should aim not touching user input. In this case to not change the "Pages [ ]" input. The control should be empty unless the user adds some value. The current text "1-6" could become a hint/placeholder, perhaps also static like "1,2 4-6" or whatever.
