If I do in a blank Calc file (master on Linux): 1. Right-click Sheet1 - Protect Sheet, give password 2. Save as ODS, reload (can't unprotect without a pwd via right-click - Protect Sheet) 3. Save as XLSX, reload After step 3 I can unprotect the sheet without entering any password. I bibisected when the feature was implemented, looking at when the checkbox for protected appeared in the context menu and with linux-42max I got 8ce1124359783df750d176b8390b4eb0f54fb6ba 2nd step to export SheetProtection fdo#64753, actually export the data So that at least gives some code pointers.
