Bug ID: 173895
Summary: FEATURE REQUEST: Allow a color choice for elements of
the UI.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.2.0.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
LO would have much greater utility, for some users, if colors could be chosen
for independent elements of user interface (UI).
In Writer, For example, Tools>Options>Appearance>Customizations a single item
(Window color) controls multiple UI elements: Menu Bar, Standard Bar,
Formatting Bar, Status Bar and Scroll Bars. This muddles the UI, with no
ability to use subtle (or bold) color choices to distinguish UI features.
The ability to make independent color choices for each of those UI features
will enable users who wish to, to create a workspace that makes often used
features more apparent while having less used ones in a non-distracting color.
And for whatever task is needed, the eye can key to a familiar shade to quickly
guide the eye or the mouse to what needs the user's attention.
In my own case, as an example, I am constantly fighting the UI because it does
not provide the distinctions I need for working efficiently.
Thanks for your consideration.
