Bug ID: 174065
Summary: Duplex printing always uses short-edge binding
regardless of selected setting
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Base
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Archlinux 7.2, version LibreOffice 26.2.6.3 (X86_64)
When attempting to print a document double-sided (duplex), selecting either
"Flip on long edge" or "Flip on short edge" in the print dialog results in the
document always being printed using short-edge binding. The "Flip on long edge"
option is ignored during output.
Environment / Context:
This issue is specific to LibreOffice. Printing the same document with duplex
settings (long-edge vs. short-edge) works correctly from other applications,
such as Mozilla Firefox, using the same printer and driver settings.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open any multi-page document in LibreOffice (Writer or Calc).
Go to File -> Print (or press Ctrl+P).
In the Print dialog, enable Duplex / Double-sided printing.
Select Flip on long edge (Long Edge binding).
Print the document.
Actual Results:
The pages are printed flipped along the short edge (upside down relative to
long-edge binding). Changing the setting between long-edge and short-edge makes
no difference in the physical output.
Expected Results:
When "Flip on long edge" is selected, the output should flip along the long
side of the sheet, matching the standard book orientation.
