--- Comment #4 from [email protected] --- Retested with the structure of the reporter's data. Note that attachment 208128 only contains test.ods; the .xlsx with the error mentioned in comment 2 is not attached. Test data (made by me, same layout as test.ods): 31 data rows, columns Date | Description | Amount | Category | SubCategory | Date (two columns named Date), dates stored as text, categories with "/" such as "Travel / Lodging/ Airlines", empty SubCategory cells. 1. Opened the .xlsx in 26.8.1.1, Data > Subtotals: group by Category, Sum of Amount. Four SUBTOTAL formulas, e.g. C4 =SUBTOTAL(9;$C$2:$C$3). 2. Saved as .xlsx (Use Excel 2007-365!), closed, reopened. Result: the formulas and values are unchanged, no #REF! and no Err:509. In the saved file, sheet1.xml has SUBTOTAL(9,$C$2:$C$3) etc. and no defined names. Together with my earlier test (three sheets with subtotals) I cannot reproduce this. Could the reporter attach the .xlsx saved by LibreOffice that shows #REF!, and say which version saved it?
