            Bug ID: 174121
Summary: Make spin buttons work consistently in the different
                    VCLs
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

When one needs to work on LibO on different computers where different VCLs are
used, a pain point is that you need to "re-learn" how spin buttons work
whenever you switch from a libreoffice instance to another one.

This is because spin buttons don't work consistently across the VCLs.

A typical case is using the "Position and Size" dialog in Draw and Impress.

Here, you can change the position and size of a graphical object by entering
values in text boxes or by increasing/decreasing the values with +/- spin
buttons.

However:

- on Qt based VCLs the spin buttons practice rounding, then work by fixed
increments. For instance, you have an object at the "position X" 21.13. You
press "+" and it goes to 21.50, You press "+" again and it goes to 22.00.

- on GTK based VCLs, the spin buttons do not practice rounding and only work by
fixed increments. For instance, you have an object at the "position X" 21.13.
You press "+" and it goes to 21.63, You press "+" again and it goes to 22.13.

Personally, I think that the behaviour of the Qt based VCLs is much better
here, since it lets you rapidly align an object to the grid.
