Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68263
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FORLATTING: built-in styles List x and Numbering x not
updated when linked
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 3.5.7.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Maybe a duplicate of bug #44494
Occurs in LO 3.5.7.2 and 4.1.0.4
How to reproduce:
-----------------
- Make "List 1 Start" linked to "Start 1"; ensure "List 1 Start" is an exact
duplicate of "List 1" by clicking on 'Standard' button in 'Indents é Spacing'
tab. Click OK.
- Write one "List 1 Start" paragraph, followed by one "List 1" paragraph. They
look the same.
- Change 'Indents & Spacing' in "List 1": set 'Before text' to 10cm. Click OK.
- Both paragraphs are updated, they look the same.
- Change 'First Line' in "List 1 Start.' to 2cm; click OK.
- Alignment is changed as expected
- Change 'Before text' in "List 1" to 5cm; click OK.
- Only, "List 1" paragraph is moved! 'Before text' measure is not propagated to
child style, though 'Before text' was not forced to a non-inherited value.
To exhibit a stranger behaviour, set 'Indent & Spacing' measures in "Default"
to easily identifiable values. Open "List 1 Start" and click on 'Standard' in
'Indent & Spacing'. Measures are reset to values which are neither "List 1"'s
nor "Default"'s.
This broken behaviour is the same for all "List x" and "Numbering x" styles.
But, if you create child user styles under "List x" (or "Numbering x"), the
child style is correctly updated whenever any attribute in the parent style is
changed.
This bug does not happen with the "Heading x" family where the changes cascade
down the hierarchy when they are linked t each other.
