Hi, 
You can always select an existing object by pressing the Tab key in the area
until you reach the object you want. An empty text box doesn't exist if it's
empty. A text box with non visible char is an existing object that you can
reach with Tab as said above. To know how to navigate in a slide, check the
online help all the shortcuts are indicated. I'm closing this issue. If you
think it's not the good behavior please request an enhancement. Sophie
