Before 9 months ago, I downloaded LibO always as an .exe file (which could be
'Open as administrator' with a right click; something not available since the
.msi format *in my system*). Don't know how it was with you.

Good for you. I had, solved, and have again, this problem. So, say it's 'my'
problem.

What file? 'My' problem is with *all* files (.odt, .ods, .doc, etc.), located
in a number of directories on a SSD and a HD. And I could perfectly open all of
them via double click (or 'Open with' after right click) before installation of
version 4.0.4+ (possibly the first 4.0 version I did install, but I'm not 100%
sure).

Tangential comment: Since I posted this ('my') problem on the French
forum.openoffice.org, I do encounter a lot of incredulity, when not veiled
hostility. I can understand that 'my' problem may be a rare, or even completely
idiosyncratic one, not worth bothering with for devs. If that's the case, just
let me know. I do like LibreOffice and am really grateful to the Document
Foundation and all the devs who work hard to improve LibO. But I'm not married
with it: As I don't have this problem with OpenOffice, I can, well, spare
everyone time and attention in switching to it.
