> Show up? Where? In context menu of the mispelled word I see only a command:
> 'Add to Dictionary'. It adds the mispelled word to the standard.dic of the
> write path. You can only have one write path, where the new words are added.
> The other paths are read-only.

1. Open "wordbook" directory under LO user profile.
2. Copy "standard.dic" to "new.dic"
3. Restart LO.
4. Go to Tools->Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids and check item "new
[All]" under User-defined dictionaries.
5. Create a new text document, write a random character sequence, right-click
it. See that Add to Dictionary has subitems: "new.dic" and "standard.dic".

6. Now create a new directory somewhere else. Copy the "standard.dic" from
"wordbook" directory to this new directory twice and name the files
"other1.dic" and "other1.dic".
7. In LO, go to Tools->Options->LibreOffice->Paths and edit Dictionaries to add
this new directory. Leave "wordbook" directory as the default one.
8. Restart LO, Go to Tools->Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids and check
items "other1 [All]" and "other2 [All]" under User-defined dictionaries.
9. Create a new text document, write a random character sequence, right-click
it. See that Add to Dictionary has subitems: "new.dic" and "standard.dic". No
"otherX.dic".

10. In LO, go to Tools->Options->LibreOffice->Paths and edit Dictionaries. Make
new directory as the default one.
11. Restart LO, create a new text document, write a random character sequence,
right-click it. See that Add to Dictionary has subitems: "other1.dic" and
"other2.dic". No "new.dic" and "standard.dic". Note that this differs from what
the OP described.

If the new directory contain spaces in the name, the sequence keeps up to and
including step 10, then changes:

11a. Restart LO, go to Tools->Options->LibreOffice->Paths and edit
Dictionaries. See that the new path is replaced with second reference to the
standard "wordbook" directory.

Tested with 4.1.2.3 under Win7x64.
