Selecting the entire pasted-in range, then copying & repasting it (Ctrl+C,
Ctrl+V) does result in a recalculation.

It seems like a paste-special, at least with the options I select, is failing
to trigger whatever lets Calc know the cells have changed and referencing cells
need recalculation, while other means of changing a cell's contents do. As a
result, Calc just sits there not recalculating the cells, probably thinking
they are up to date when they are not, even when the user gives it an explicit
command to recalculate.
