--- Comment #9 from ariel cornejo <[email protected]> --- > Please, do not change the version number which is intended to show the oldest > version in which the problem has been seen. Got it! > If you want chart a F(t) function where the abscissa are in a column and the > ordinate in another, you _must_ use XY (Scatter) type. Line type is intended > for one list of values used as ordinates, the abscissa being the line number > (first value, second value, etc.). Then there are a few things that I don't understand about Line charts (not even specific to Calc, since Excel does the same): 1a. Why do Line charts honor the _values_ in the first column for the X _position_ of the points instead of just using them as labels? For example, if there's a gap in the dates in the first column skips several days, the chart will show the corresponding gap. 1b. Line charts even handle date types better than Scatter - [Format X Axis > Scale] allows Type=Date and Major interval=1 Month, while Scatter only allows Major interval="every X", which is why I prefer Line charts for time series spanning > 1 month. 2. Why does the date value have to be truncated, anyway? Thanks for your time so far. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
