Then there are a few things that I don't understand about Line charts (not even
specific to Calc, since Excel does the same):

1a. Why do Line charts honor the _values_ in the first column for the X
_position_ of the points instead of just using them as labels? For example, if
there's a gap in the dates in the first column skips several days, the chart
will show the corresponding gap.

1b. Line charts even handle date types better than Scatter - [Format X Axis >
Scale] allows Type=Date and Major interval=1 Month, while Scatter only allows
Major interval="every X", which is why I prefer Line charts for time series
spanning > 1 month.

2. Why does the date value have to be truncated, anyway?
