Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75501
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: EDITING: copy-paste causes misplaced comments (data
corruption)
Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.2.1.1 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Created attachment 94723

Demonstration of comment duplication/displacement bug.
Pasting into a cell causes comments attached to other cells to be copied
elsewhere.
The attachment shows a very simple example. In a large spreadsheet, the
comments quickly become hopelessly lost.
This is a nasty bug because:
a) the data corruption caused may be very distant from the current edit
location, and may thus pass unnoticed for some time;
b) the corruption cannot be fixed using Edit, Undo; and
c) there is no ability to search for comments (bug 46875), so it is hard to
repair the corruption manually.
This is possibly related to bug 66340.
