I'v also your suggestions: - problem persists after resetting user profile - problem persists after complete new installation of LibreOffice 4.2.1 But after a lot of trials maybe the error title has to be updated: the problem seems to be the url on Linux as well as on Windows!! Depending on the url LibreOffice freezes for intervals from seconds to half an hour (or maybe even worse?). The whole application freezes including the GUI thread, so it is blocked somewhere outside the message loop. No visible CPU-/disk-/network-activities, so maybe it's waiting for timeouts? Since the problem appears for me in two completely independent Linux/Windows-systems, I expect that you can also verify it yourself by simply running the following trivial example with different URLs. (the uncommentaed one is the worst!)
