Install fails on Debian stable (dependency issues)
Actions:
- download LibreOffice 4.2.3 for Linux x86 (deb)
- extract .zip
- run auto install using "dpkg -i *.deb"
Problem:
- auto install fails because of dependency errors
Sample output: (Dutch)
dpkg: error processing libobasis4.2-gnome-integration (--configure):
vereistenproblemen - blijft ongeconfigureerd
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of
libobasis4.2-postgresql-sdbc:
libobasis4.2-postgresql-sdbc is afhankelijk van libobasis4.2-base (>=
4.2.3.3); maar:
Pakket libobasis4.2-base is nog niet geconfigureerd.
Probable cause:
- the installer assumes a certain install order for the .deb packages
- probably some dependencies are not defined correctly
Dirty solution:
- install the needed "core packages" manually (see attachment)
- "dpkg -i libobasis4.2-core01_4.2.3.3-3_amd64.deb"
- this fixes it for me (maybe not for all users)
Good solution:
- fix the dependency errors
