I've done some light scripting and don't know the libreoffice source, so I may well have the wrong end of the stick. But I might have communicated badly, so I'll try to clarify. It seems to me the problem is that all of the different components are calling up different boxes, where they should all be calling the same box (i.e. the same piece of code). Of course that's quite a big 'bug' (or enhancement), as it would require e.g. the ability to highlight text in draw before it could be implemented. Is that a fair assessment? If not, would it be useful to have an overarching 'meta' bug to group together Font-> Character enhancements? I'll happily make a meta bug if it's going to be of use.
