--- Comment #6 from tommy27 <[email protected]> --- (In reply to comment #4) > Yes, but: > (1) it requires Java it's true, but what's the problem with Java? why can't you install it? > (2) it is listed as experimental the macro recorder exist from the OOo era, so more than 10 years, and is a default option of OOo and AOO since then. for some reasons (which I never agreed with) during the LibO process it was moved in the options table together with the Experimental features under "Options/LibreOffice/Advanced/Enable macro recording" were you see this: Optional (unstable) Options - enable experimental features - enable macro recording (limited) I think the text there is misleading since the "unstable" in the title should refer just to the experimental features and not to the macro recording which is only "limited" which means that you cannot convert in a macro 100% of the actions. (I will file a new report asking rewording of this option page). so, having said that, it 100% safe to use the macro recorder and you can suggest it to your users. the point is that macro recorder could be improved, that's sure, but like Joel asked it would be better to describe specific scenarios in which you feel the macro recording doesn't do what is expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
