Since you mentioned professional UX designers: Apple iWork applications can only save to their native format. Every other supported format can only be exported to; this includes the file format of their previous version. Even opening of a file in a supported non-native format is treated like creation of a new file--on saving, the user is prompted to pick a name and a file in a native format is created.
