If a spreadsheet is readonly (permission 444 for example) Calc will not allow
you to use the Format Cells window to inspect the cell properties. This is
extremely inconvenient because you have to remember to either copy or change
the permissions of the spreadsheet before looking at it. In this case Format
Cells should work and allow you to look at properties, though of course things
should be greyed out so you can't change them.
