Bug #: 47340
Summary: Overwriting characters doesn't preserve formatting
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.5.1 RC2
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Created attachment 58479
--> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58479
Example to show how overwrite should work
In writer, if a text range is selected and then overwritten with new
characters, the formatting of the original characters should be preserved and
transfered to the newly written ones.
Example: There are some "bold" characters between normal ones. When selecting
the bold ones and typing a new text, this should also appear in "bold". A
sample file explaining my meaning will be added.
In my opinion the requested feature, which is also implemented in MS-Word, is
very useful.
