Proposing an improvement: When pages have a header or footer except on the
first page, the first page's top or bottom is larger than it is on other pages.
It would be neater if the top line on the first page is at the same distance
from the paper's edge as the top of the header is on other pages, and similarly
for bottoms of pages.
My hardware description is a guess.
