I am not certain how the profile could be related to this problem, but that might explain the intermittent nature of the issue. It does seem that when it works, it works consistently for several hours and when it fails, it fails consistently for several hours. Rebooting the computer doesn't help, but perhaps there is something in the profile that gets reset periodically which temporarially solves the issue. I discovered this problem because my wife frequently copies data from websites (using Firefox on Windows XP) to Writer to better format it for printing. She has used LibreOffice since 3.x and has never had an issue. After upgrading to 3.5.0 (and later 3.5.1.2) she cannot go more than one day without experiencing problems. Downgrading to 3.4.x causes the issue to disappear.
