screen shot of defaults listing

Pardon my inarticulate language - not a tech guy. Just upgraded to W10 and
tried to continue to use Box Edit, a small program from Box.com that automates
the process of opening cloud-based documents (accessed through the web) with
local programs, and then saving edits to the cloud automatically after
incremental saves or document close. The Box Edit program reads the library of
default programs on the windows computer and uses those defaults to select what
local programs to use when opening them over the web. This stopped working for
word docs when I upgrated to Windows 10. Although when you open local word
docs, LO Writer correctly is used to handle the file, the windows listing for
the default program for .doc files is "Unknown Program," and something seems to
prevent Box Edit from knowing to use Writer to open word docs hosted in Box's
cloud space. I hope this is clear enough...
