Bug ID: 94329
Summary: French localization causes some formulae to be treated
as if returning a boolean value
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Under french localization, Calc incorrectly decides that certain formulae
return boolean values. Oddly enough, this does not happen under US english
localization.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Run Calc with the fr_FR.UTF-8 locale.
2) In the empty spreadsheet, enter the following formula in cell A1: "=B1+C1"
(without quotes).
Actual results:
The text displayed in cell A1 is VRAI, the french translation of TRUE. Checking
the cell's properties in Format/Cellules.../Nombres shows that the format
description is BOOLEAN; changing it to Standard causes the cell to display the
number 1.
Expected results:
The cell should display the number 0.
Build date & hardware:
Libreoffice version: 4.4.5.2, Build ID: 40m0(Build:2)
OS: Debian GNU/Linux testing
Relevant software packages: libreoffice* at version 1:4.4.5-2
Additional information:
This bug does not occur if Calc runs with the en_US.UTF-8 locale (e.g. when run
from bash with "LANG=en_US.UTF-8 libreoffice").
