Bug ID: 95108
Summary: Editing mathematical equations-formulas results with
some deformed characters in it...
Product: LibreOffice

Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium

ZIPped Impres prezentation and screenprint wtih the problem
On the beginning it was working fine. After two weeks working on the
presentation often and more often I have problems with edited
formulas/equations. I'm changing something in a formula and after closing
formula editor I do obtain edited one version but some characters are deformed,
oversized. Looks terrible. Example in graphic attached.
The only but temporarily (until the next editing) solution is to delete
original formula and write new one.
When I do mathematical transformation to the formulas (trying to show something
that arise from the equations) the easiest way is to copy previous version of
it, which is good prepared, worked out (including colours, positioning and size
on the page) - just needs some editing - mainly symbols shifting. It saves a
lot of time and frustration, especially when everything I have prepared in the
previous but now edited (or copied and edited) version of it was fine.
The only, but frustrating solution, I found is to copy contents of formula from
formula editor and create new formula (pasting copied contents into new
editor/formula session), position it, resize it and so on. Stays all the
symbols and characters, colours which saves a lot of effort. All editing I do
on previous original but broken version that I tan delete and create new
formula.
It is not the first time I've met the problem. I know it for years now. Met it
on different computers (home, work, work laptop) and different OS, and The
Office versions (including old OOorg if I can remember).
Now it is W7x64 & LOtDF.Impres.4.4.5.2 but seems not specific to this version.
Earlier I tought the reason was change between OOorg and LOtDF but hardly!
I know the only common element: the user - the frustrated one ;)
In attachment Zipped presentation and screenprint for Your investigation.
Be aware: presentation is on Polish (!) But formulas are in Universal Math;)
kind regards
M.B.
P.S. Maybe problem was generated when I temporarily copied some equations from
Ms Office as an example to write my own formulas? I didn't edit them - thought
it looked like blurred pictures without background anyway. Before there was no
problems with my formulas in this particular document but could be coincidence.
