Bug ID: 95369
Summary: Unwarranted crash report in Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.0.0.5 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I recently uggraded LibreOffice from the 32-bit version of 5.0.0.5 to the
64-bit version of 5.0.2.2. Soon after the upgrade, the program slowed to a
crawl (I use the word processor mostly)and began leaving this message on
shutdown:
LibreOffice Document Recovery
Due to an unexpected error, LibreOffice crashed. All the files you were working
on will now be saved. The next time LibreOffice is launched, your files will be
restored automatically.
The following files will be recovered:
The field listing the files to be recovered is blank. When closing the Document
Recovery window, another small window appears, which reads:
LibreOffice 5.0 - Fatal Error
Unknown SEH exception
Now, so far as I can tell, the program is not crashing; I only get these
intermittent messages when closing the program. Anyway, I decided to revert
back to the 32-bit version, since I had no problems with it. I uninstalled the
64-bit version of 5.0.2.2 and installed the 32-bit version of 5.0.2.2, with the
same results as the 64-bit version explained above. I then uninstalled the
32-bit version of 5.0.2.2, and re-installed the 32-bit version of 5.0.0.5,
which I was using previously with no issues. Now this version, which had worked
perfectly before, is exhibiting the same problems that began with the 64-bit
version of 5.0.2.2.
I know this probably sounds like no big deal and, admittedly, I'm not losing
any files or data so far as I can tell. I'm just a bit nonplussed by it all --
I've never seen a program say it crashed when it clearly didn't. I really like
LibreOffice and I'd just like to know what I can do to get it to function like
it used to, without any problems at all.
Thanks.
