Bug #: 49414 Summary: EDITING: Copying table from Writer to Calc text in the table changed to date unexpectedly Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Status Whiteboard: BSA Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: attem...@gmail.com Created attachment 60949 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=60949 Screenshot showing Writer table in the Writer and same table pasted to Calc Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Create table in Writer 2. Enter values like R01 R02 R15 R30 in to some cells Here I suspect that it may somehow be related to locale being Estonian (so R[eede] is shorted version of F[riday]) 3. Copy Writer table 4. Make sure that in the Calc Tools/Cell contents/AutoInput is not checked. 4. Paste in to the Calc. Current behavior: Changes everything from R03.1, R03.2, R05, R06 up to R30 etc to dates. Actually I can't even imagine someone using format like "wdd" [Single character day of week][day of the month] as sensible date format. Expected behavior: Leave text as is. I have a lot of electronics bills of materials to process and they contain a lot of resistors marked as R1, R2, R500, R12.02 etc. It's major problem when someone there's a BOM in Word format (quite usual). Problem is, there's usually many merged cells, font formatting with some meaning like "not mount red colored parts", other wordprocessing fancy tricks that do not allow to paste as text to Calc (Writer's 500 line * 6 columns table pasted as text to Calc ends as 3000 line * 1 column mess).
