HTML works much better than default RTF import. CSV is of no help (actually shown as "Unformatted text" - so just plain text, but not CSV?) because it does not preserve tabular structure (entire table is squeezed into one column so that Writer's table first column contents are in the first cell, second column in the cell below that and so on and so on for each record). Paste special offers the following options for Writer table: "Libre Office 3.5 Text Document" - embedding, not useful in this case. "Formatted text [RTF]" - looks like it's the default format. No prompts and unneeded date detection without the chance to skip it. "HTML (HyperText Markup Language)" - This one is much better, offers an option to select a language to use and checkbox to suppress date detection! "Unformatted text" - described above, not useful for tabular data from Writer. Anyway I'd suggest (if is possible to implement easily) for the RTF importer to respect the value of the "Tools/Cell contents/AutoInput" menu item. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
