--- Comment #1 from Algot Runeman <[email protected]> --- LibreOffice Writer has Insert->Special Character as one way to add accents to letters. Another way is to learn the codes for utf-8 encoding and use the special key sequence to insert those codes which make the accented characters. For example, to make acute accent e (é) hold down the Ctrl+Shift+U and while holding them down type the four digits 00e9. (When using a browser to do the same thing, you can release the Ctrl+Shift+U before tapping the code.) The third way is more complex and depends on getting the Compose/Meta key set to work as it does in Windows. The details will depend on your distribution's system settings. However, once the compose/meta key is set, hold down the compose/meta key and tap the apostrophe followed by the letter e to make the accented letter (é). Other accents have other codes, of course. A longer version of the explanation is here: http://runeman.org/articles/unicode/index.html -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
