I assume that must be a joke, as it can't possibly be easier to re-write and
rebuild major parts of LibreOffice than it can be to have a short and civil
discussion about a feature request to Calc.

I'm personally fine with this behavior of Calc as it stands today. I was just
proposing a possible change on the grounds that it might improve the software
experience for some subset of our users. Short and sweet.
