Sorry, I can't advise on best actions, nor test. Not a Mendeley user--rather
Zotero and EndNote.
But, you might remove both LibreOffice 5.1.3.2 and Mendeley 1.16.1 with package
mamnager, back up your data ~/.local/share/data/Mendeley Ltd./Mendeley Desktop/
and then clear any residual profile ~/.libreoffice, and
~/.local/share/data/Mendeley Ltd.
and then reinstall both as if clean new install. Check if they run--then
restore the data and verify it is still OK.
