There is definitely no 27" thunderbolt display attached - I might be able to
afford a MacBook Pro but apple charge even sillier prices for Monitors.

This is my Hardware:

Resolution 2560x1600 227ppi
2015 13.3" MacBook Pro
2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
8GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory
128GB PCIe-based HD
Intel Iris Graphics 6100

The problem occurs only when opening documents with writer. The liberoffice
launcher appears, I click on the documents I wish to edit, the writer interface
appears with the document in the view shortly followed by the spinning
beachball of death. Force quitting the application is then required.

Prior to the Sierra update everything was ok.

Interestingly, Calc works fine.
