I get the same crash with macbook pro mid 2010 with discrete graphic card.
Mine's is nvidia geforce 330M.
I can switch on the discrete graphic card by lauching Photos. After that the
libreoffice works well. I disabled gfxCardStatus just to see if it would change
the situation.
I tried with various "fresh" releases of libreoffice. I will try 5.3 beta and
report back but now I need the Mac for work.
If I may add a cent, it started (for me) after the ugprade from 5.2.0.4 to
5.2.2 but not after upgrading to Sierra. After the first crash, even a restore
of libreoffice from time machine sorted out nothing.
Libreoffice crashes with or without the language pack.
