Description:
Trying to open a password-protected document while another document is already
open (e.g. opening a protected Writer document while a Calc spreadsheet, with
or without protection, is open) brings up a password prompt, but that prompt
does not take focus or even come to the foreground. It can be confusing having
to either find the prompt in the taskbar or to minimise windows in the
foreground in order to be able to see the password prompt at all. If I open a
document, I'd expect any prompts that document requires in order to open to
take focus so that I can start typing the password right away without having to
find the application that has meekly opened a prompt somewhere in the
background.
While not a major issue, this can be a major annoyance when working with
multiple documents, some of which are password-protected, while other windows
are open, especially on multiple monitors. This has been occurring at least
since version 4.4 iirc, possibly earlier, and is still an issue in 5.1.6.2.
Tested with 64-bit version of LibreOffice on Win7.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a LibreOffice document or spreadsheet.
2. Open one or more other applications in Windows.
3. Open a password-protected LibreOffice document, e.g. via pinned LibreOffice
Writer documents or recent documents (i.e. don't minimise other windows), or
via Windows Explorer.
Actual Results:
The password prompt shows up on the taskbar (though it doesn't always show up
with a taskbar entry when opening further password-protected documents), but
sits in the background behind the other applications opened. To type your
password into the prompt, you need to minimise these applications or activate
the prompt or the other open document/spreadsheet.
Expected Results:
The password prompt is opened with an entry in the taskbar every time and takes
focus, i.e. it allows you to type your password right after launching the
document.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Not this time, but I've done so previously and the problem
has persisted.
