Ok, I did some testing and finally realized: the formatting is for *character*,
so you need to first select the whole string "Name:" and only then will Format
- Default formatting have an effect. Yet, the effect is to change the text box
to the good ol' default blue box :)

So it is perhaps wiser to edit the character formatting directly, for example
in the Sidebar properties deck. The font in this particular file is Helvetica,
which is proprietary. Liberation sans is a close match.

Styles + direct formatting is a common source of confusion, but it is not a
bug.
